Starting now, you can begin a brand new journey toward a more positive path for yourself – one that’s filled with growth, well being, acceptance, and empowerment.
My name is Stacie and I want to acknowledge what a huge step it is that you have decided to seek out support for yourself. My backstory is that I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Health Promotion & Disease Prevention from the University of Southern California and a Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute. For the past ten years I have worked at the residential level of care as a Clinical Director and Primary Therapist, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders and associated issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, and family/relational issues. I have spent many years supporting teens in areas of individuation and social stressor management, parents who struggle with family conflicts/boundaries and launching issues, individuals who have anxiety or depression that interferes with daily life activities, and couples struggling with healthy communication.
Whatever the issue is, my only agenda is helping clients understand the things that get in the way of them having a healthy relationship with themselves and others and working together to repair both.
My therapeutic stance is that you, the client, are the expert. I believe you hold all of the information necessary for change to occur. My role is to help you reconnect to your inner strengths and resources that you might have lost touch with. I use whatever therapeutic modality that will best help you, as an individual, learn the tools necessary for change. This often includes CBT, DBT, CPT for trauma, narrative work, or whatever else fits the need. It is important for me to be a person first as I believe the therapeutic relationship is a significant agent of change and when you feel able to trust in the relationship, change is more likely to occur.
